Last week, Kidoevolve founder Kirsten Chase had the opportunity to participate in Knowledgehook’s Leadership Series on Children’s Mental Health and Wellbeing. It was a rich discussion, with host Jennifer Adams and parenting experts Alyson Schafer and Jennifer Kolari (bios below). An interesting mix of current and key aspects of children’s health and school experiences were covered - including the idea that learning mindfulness early in life can bring about positive and powerful wellbeing outcomes for kids, their families and society at large. You can check out the Roundtable here…
And, if your interest is piqued… here’s a little more detail about the host and each participant.
Knowledgehook is a company that Kidevolve thinks the world of - they have reinvented how math gets delivered and provided an amazing suite of development tools to math teachers. We love their vision and how they execute. They are solid head to toe. As if re-envisioning how math teachers teach wasn’t enough, they engage in super value added, next-gen thought leadership - their Leadership Series brings together experts from around the globe on topics like Education 2030, SEL, Future Skills, and of course, Mathematics.
Alyson Schafer is one of north America’s leading parenting experts. She communicates her incredible Adlerian psychology approach to child rearing and family interventions through an ecosystem that includes unforgettable books (see: Honey I Wrecked the Kids, etc.), must-attend seminars, a super supportive Facebook page aimed at parenting teens, direct family counselling and spot coaching, and a new podcast called Parenting The Adlerian Way (quickly climbing the charts). Alyson’s practical, non-nonsense approach combined with her sense of humour is why we love her. Every morsel of advice she delivers is sanity saving.
Jennifer Kolari is new to Kidevolve - and boy were we missing out. Jennifer has authored several incredibly insightful books on SEL including Connected Parenting: How To Raise a Great Kid, offers a fully integrated child and family therapy practice and webinar/course series via Connected Parenting, and serves as a tour de force on not one but two truly remarkable podcasts - Connected Parenting podcast (which we haven’t been able to put down!), and The Mental Health Comedy Podcast where she co-hosts (with Ed Crasnick), interviewing comedians, entertainers and leaders to talk about big ideas and big feelings with much humour and a smart edge towards de-stigmatizing all aspects of mental health discussion.
